A capsized canoe at Galeairy Lake in South Algonquin Township led to the death of the one occupant who was not wearing a life jacket.
Killaloe OPP were called out to investigate the incident Saturday (August 14th) about 12:42PM.
The police investigation revealed that two children and an adult male were canoeing near a local beach when their canoe capsized.
The kids were pulled from the water by a bystander.
Police, local fire fighters, and conservation officers from the MNRF then conducted a search of the lake, and a short time afterward, the body of 42 year old Chunguan ZHAO of Aurora was pulled from the water.
ZHAO was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem has been ordered, but foul play is not suspected.
