The Northern Tornadoes Project has confirmed an EF1 Tornado touched down in Beachburg.
Experts have been analyzing data and determined it was a tornado that developed northeast of Beachburg on July 13th, 2021, and reached maximum wind speeds of up to 170 kilometers an hour (km/hour).
The Northern Tornadoes Project says preliminary track details show a 5.8 kilometer track with a maximum width of 850 meters.
Volunteers helped staff at Wilderness Tours with clean-up efforts following the storm.
The tornado is said to have crossed the Ottawa River into Quebec and further investigation is pending, including satellite and drone imaging.
