Owner Chantal Van-Hoof says they’ve had to get creative during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She says they started by sanitizing everything and placing markings on the floor to keep the kids apart.
During the lockdown, Van-Hoof says they were able to switch to Zoom which gave them the opportunity to keep going, stay connected and make corrections.
With COVID-19 restrictions starting to lift, Starz in Motion was able to host a show at the Skylight Drive-In on Sunday, July 11th and Monday, July 12th, 2021.
Van-Hoof says when the dancers finished on stage, they were able to go sit in the car and watch the rest of the show, which normally doesn’t happen because they go backstage.
The event was capped off with fireworks and the owner at Starz in Motion says it was the first time, but may not be the last time they host an event at the Drive-In.
With Ontario moving into Stage 3 of the reopening plan, Starz in Motion will be able to resume classes in-person.
Performing arts along with sports and recreation facilities can open at 50% capacity or 1,000 people, whichever is less.
