Residents are being warned of an increased risk of collision between boaters and swimmers at the Petawawa Point Beach.
Town staff say low water levels on the Ottawa River have narrowed the distance between the beachhead and boating channel.
The Town of Petawawa is asking swimmers and boaters to exercise extreme caution when in this area.
BOATERS: Please slow down and proceed with caution when travelling in the vicinity of the Petawawa Point beach head.
SWIMMERS: Do not enter the water/swim outside of the designated upstream swim area (signage pictured below). Always be aware of your surroundings and do not enter the boat channel marked by the red and green buoys. DO NOT attempt to swim across the boating channel to reach Blueberry Island.
