A Pembroke child care facility marked National Indigenous Peoples Day by remembering the 215 children discovered at a former Kamloops residential school. Wise Owl Daycare Centre have placed 215 orange ribbons on their front fence at their Isabella Street location. Director of the facility is Valeda Steinburg, who says their goal was simple.
Steinburg also says a visual understanding of the situation is important.
Finally, the Director says education about residential schools is important for the older children in the daycare.
