A Trillium grant has aided Streetlight Theatre Company in finishing off its new studio on TV Tower Road in Pembroke.
The 108 thousand dollar funding allowed a retrofit of the former Bell Media TV station, and the newly dedicated space will allow Streetlight to invite diverse community members to become actively involved in theatre and the performing arts.
The building’s interior was gutted, an elevated stage and a reframed production area created- and the plant augmented by accessible washroom facilities and building entranceway.
Founded in 2008, Streetlight Theatre Company (STC) is a non-profit organization based in Pembroke, Ontario.
STC has produced plays and musicals involving community members of all ages, for audiences across the Ottawa Valley.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. OTF awarded more than $115 million to 644 projects last year.
