The Town of Petawawa is planning major work along Portage Road next year.
As part of the public works budget presented to council on Monday (November 23rd) over $3.3-million was budgeted for road work, sewer and waterworks along Portage Road from Dustin Road to Petawawa Boulevard.
Earlier this year (February 2020), the Town of Petawawa had approved $2.9-million for the Portage Road and Scott Avenue project, however work was postponed until 2021.
In addition to the $3.3-million being spent on Portage Road another $730,000 will be spent on Scott Avenue.
The Town of Petawawa has a number of other road projects and capital jobs identified in the draft budget.
Hilda Street, Laura Street, Albert Street, Airport Road, Biesenthal Road and Radke Road are all scheduled to be worked on.
This year town staff completed work on Golf Course Road, Airport Road, Harry Street, Biesenthal Road, paving at the municipal office parking lot and twinning of the Algonquin Trail.
The public works draft budget report will be forwarded to the budget workshop for final approval from council.
