If all goes according to plan the Civic Centre in Petawawa should reopen by Saturday, September 26th in a limited capacity.
Manager of Community Services Kelly Williams says they’ve been meeting with other municipalities in Renfrew County to try and have the same rules from one arena to the next.
Williams says the plan for reopening the Petawawa Civic Centre has been reviewed and approved by the Renfrew County and District Health Unit.
The Civic Centre will be split into three sections that each allow up to 50 people.
The library, arena and hall will be separated from each other with different entrances and people not able to cross from one zone to the other.
Williams says minor hockey is the biggest user of the Civic Centre.
Hockey players will have to come to the arena dressed, arrive 15-minutes before ice time and leave 15-minutes afterwards.
To adhere to the provincial guidelines, the Civic Centre arena will allow 25 skaters (including coaches, trainers and players), with up to 25 visitors able to watch.
Williams says they are now taking bookings at the Civic Centre and encourages you to contact the Community Services department for more details.
