Capt Gabrielle Rawling is from Kingston, ON and joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2012 as a Reserve Force Intelligence Operator at 21 EW Regt 214 Squadron. In 2014, she completed a component transfer to the Regular Force to join the Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP). She attended Royal Military College of Canada (RMCC) where she obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering, graduating in 2017.
While awaiting her training, she was posted to the 14 Operation Support Squadron (OSS) Telecom Flight in Greenwood, NS. After the completion of her Communication and Electronics Engineer (CELE) course, she was posted to 764 Communication Squadron (764 Comm Sqn) where she was employed as the Message Troop Commander and the Strategic Message Switching System (SMSS) Operations Support Officer. During her time at 764 Comm Sqn, she had the opportunity to attend the Combined Communications-Electronics Board (CCEB) Conference as a representative for the Canadian Military Messaging Working Group in Brisbane, Australia. In 2019, she participated in the Military Cup held in Germany as a member of the International Military Sports Council or Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM) Women’s Basketball Team. Upon her return she was posted to 4 Canadian Division Support Group (CDSG) Signal Squadron (Sig Sqn) as the Officer in Command of Alpha Troop where she managed personnel providing communication services to Garrison Petawawa and Northern Ontario. In June 2020, she moved to the position of Operations Officer of 4 CDSG Sig Sqn.
