A lease agreement between the City of Pembroke and Grind to take over the old Fire Hall has officially been signed. The agreement was approved by the city this week that sees the municipality receive the nominal amount of $1 plus HST per month for rent with The Grind being financially responsible for utilities and general maintenance costs. The Grind Pembroke will be financially responsible for the physical separation of services shared with attached 42 Renfrew Street, which is the Pembroke 50+ Active Living Centre. Mayor Mike Lemay says it’s been a lengthy process but it’s comforting to know council is supporting a vulnerable part of the population.
At this point, there is no timeline when the Grind will be moving into Victoria Hall.
