The Town of Petawawa is preparing to open local boat launches before the long weekend.
The town says they plan to have the Petawawa Point and Black Bay boat launches open for public use on May 15th. Town staff say if you plan to use the boat launch please follow the posted boat launch rules and additional measures put in place.
Water levels on the Ottawa River remain high, so the docks at the Point will not be installed until it is safe to do so. Municipal parks and beaches in Petawawa remain closed to the public under rules set out by the provincial state of emergency.
The Town of Petawawa is opening the boat launches to provide a healthy safe environment to support those who need this infrastructure to ensure their wellbeing.
More information about the Town’s response to COVID-19 is available on their website here.
