Jamie Bramburger has worked in public relations for more than 30 years. Originally trained as a broadcast journalist, Jamie spent 13 years in radio and television, primarily as a News Director before joining Algonquin Collegeʼs Pembroke Campus in 1999 as its Manager of Community and Student Affairs, a position he continues to hold.
Jamie has been involved in several community initiatives including the effort to build a new Waterfront Campus for the college, a project that took almost 7 years to come to fruition. Other community projects and committees that Jamie has had the opportunity to be part of have included the redevelopment of Pembrokeʼs waterfront in 2000, the founding of the Jason Blaine Charity concert and golf tournament that has raised more than $500,000 over its first six years of operation, the first Chair of Pembrokeʼs Economic Development Advisory Committee, Honorary Chair of the United Way Renfrew County campaign, member of the Upper Ottawa Valley physician recruitment committee, Director on the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce, etc.
Jamie is part of many other community committees and also has a passion for writing, interviewing and sports. He has written a book on the history of the Pembroke Lumber Kings, released in 2018; he has been the voice of the Pembroke Lumber Kings on cable television for more than 30 years and over his career in broadcasting, both formal and as a volunteer. Jamie is a past recipient of the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce Community Ambassador of the Year award and won a national leadership award from Colleges and Institutes Canada and an Ontario Volunteer Service Award from the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration for 30 years of volunteering with cable television.
