Gas prices have taken a significant hit as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic. GasBuddy says a month ago they noticed the first signs of gas prices dropping and now prices across the country are remarkably low. The price of gas across Renfrew County is different in each community.
According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas available in Renfrew County is in Pikwakanagan for just over 71 cents per litre, in Pembroke gas is under 76 cents per litre, you can get gas at the pumps in Petawawa for upwards of 78 cents, Chalk River is at 85 cents per litre, Deep River is hovering around 90 cents per litre and in Cobden gas is upwards of 87 cents.
Petroleum analysts at GasBuddy say the coronavirus has caused countries to be in lockdown with limited driving, flying and overall movement meaning the demand for oil is low. Gasbuddy says for the better part of 2020, prices will be some of the lowest we’ve experienced in a while.
The most up to date prices can be found on the GasBuddy website or app.
