The Town of Laurentian Valley has approved the budget for 2020. Treasurer Charlene Jackson says the budget includes a 4.92 per cent increase to the levy. Jackson says they’re looking at a 2.4% tax rate increase, which works out to about $9.37 per $100,000 in property assessment. She says council passed the budget on Tuesday night.
The treasurer adds some major capital projects include this year will include road work.
Jackson says council passed the user-pay budget back in January. Sewer rates went up 2 per cent, collection fees increased $5 per household and water is going up $25 for the year, showing a 3.8% increase.
