A military member from Garrison Petawawa is being treated for life-threatening injuries following a snowmobile crash in the training grounds this afternoon (Feb. 19th). 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (2CMBG) public affairs officer, Sub-Lieutenant Pamela Bussiere, says the soldier was evacuated to receive proper medical care. She says MSE Safety, the Mobile Support Equipment unit, is currently investigating the incident. Sub-Lieutenant Bussiere says the priority at the moment is ensuring the member receives the appropriate medical care.
A section of Highway 17 at Paquette Road was closed for roughly half an hour to air lift the victim to an Ottawa hospital.
