A police officer in eastern Ontario has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault and choking. The OPP says the 30-year-old male officer has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and overcoming resistance by choking. All of the charges relate to off-duty domestic incidents. The OPP says they received a complaint about the conduct of an officer in October. The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the alleged victim. The police officer has been with the OPP East Region for four years and has been suspended from the force with pay. Police did not disclose which detachment he works for. The investigation is ongoing and the OPP says the accused has been released with a future court date set.
