The Pembroke Regional Hospital is trying to improve traffic flow in the Emergency Department parking lot. The PRH has introduced new signage for the entry and exit locations and has installed barriers at both points of entry.
Pembroke Regional Hospital President and CEO Pierre Noel says the Patient and Family Advisory Council asked to change the traffic pattern so those driving into the Emergency Department parking lot will have their vehicle’s passenger door open towards both Tower B and C entrances.
Noel says in the past, they’ve unsuccessfully attempted to adjust the traffic flow with the use of one way signs. He adds this wasn’t effective because both access points to the parking lot still had two lanes.
The changes to the parking at the hospital started yesterday (Monday, December 2nd) on a trial basis to improve the flow and help facilitate more efficient patient pick-ups and drop offs.
