The Petawawa Centennial Family Health Centre has expanded to better serve the community. A ribbon cutting ceremony took place on Wednesday afternoon to mark the occasion. Executive Director Judy Hill says they want to be the heart of health care in Petawawa.
She says the 5,200 square foot expansion allows Life Labs, Mulvihill Drug Mart and Ottawa Valley Physiotherapy to offer more services and programs at the location on Civic Centre Road.
The Petawawa Centennial Family Health Centre was built back in 2005 and only had one doctor at the time. Hill says they’ve grown to serve 8,100 patients in the community with 32 professionals and five doctors. She adds earlier this week they asked the Ministry of Health to bring on two more doctors and are working with the county on submissions for the new Ontario Health Teams.
