After starting her career as a volunteer in Sault Saint Marie, Steinburg came to Pembroke and landed the position as Director at Wise Owl Daycare Centre.
One of Renfrew County’s largest child care facilities, Wise Owl hosts over 100 children at any given time, ranging in age from infant to school age children.
Steinburg over the 35 years she’s been on the job, the child care industry has evolved by leaps and bounds.
She says there are struggles when different levels of government change, but there will always be a need for child care.
When speaking to the future generation, Steinburg says it’s important the next generation have a passion for the field as they will be the ones preparing the generation that follows them.
