Thefts, domestic assaults and impaired driving keep local OPP busy

The Renfrew Detachment of the OPP responded to 266 calls in a week. Last week officers in Renfrew and Arnprior investigated 12 domestic disputes resulting in one man and woman arrested for assault and a man was charged with uttering threats and resisting arrest. Several thefts were reported to local police as well. Last week a building in Cobden was broken into and 20-thousand dollars worth of tools were stolen. A wallet was stolen from the Armories in Renfrew on Saturday (Oct. 6th) and a white Ford pumped some gas and drove off down O’Brien Road and made no attempt to pay. This past weekend Renfrew and Arnprior OPP took part in Operation Impact and arrested 2 impaired drivers, 1 warn range license suspension, 22 speeding tickets and six hazardous moving violations over the four day campaign.
