Safety campaigns, animal related accidents and calls for service keep OPP busy

The Killaloe OPP is investigating six animal related collisions. In addition, from October 1st to the 8th the police responded to 127 calls for service. Of those calls there was 12 collisions, five domestic disputes and two resulted in criminal charges. Local police also wrapped up the fall seatbelt campaign and operation impact over the long weekend. Residents can be thankful for 97 speeding tickets, one stunt driving, 7 seatbelt charges, 1 distracted driving and 21 moving violations. Numerous vehicles were checked over the long weekend and 1 alcohol warn range suspension was issued. 20 drivers were caught not wearing a seatbelt during that campaign.
