A new place for events is coming to Renfrew County. Bert Dunbar says they renovated an old hay barn on Queens Line and will be looking to host weddings and other gatherings in the 3800 square foot space. Dunbar says the barn was originally renovated for the oil business, but a family reunion sparked a lot of interest in alternative uses for the structure.
Dunbar requested that Whitewater council make an amendment to a zoning by-law that designates the land agricultural. After hearing concerns from neighbours, council decided to move ahead with the plan saying that anyone who complains about the smell or noise of cows at their wedding should probably re-consider the venue before booking. Dunbar hopes the barn is open in March or April of next year.
