The Upper Ottawa Valley Adult Soccer Club finals are set. The men’s semi-finals took place on Tuesday night. There was a big upset as league leading Ulrich’s FC lost to Whitewater Brewing Company with a final score of 3 to 1. Ulrich’s finished the season with a record of 9 wins 1 tie and 2 losses, while Whitewater Brewing Company finished fourth in the league with a 4-1-6 record.
The other semi final in the men’s league was between the Grouse Park Rangers from Deep River and Petawawa Saint-Germain FC. The two teams were a little closer matched with Petawawa ranked second with a 6-1-4 record and the team from Deep River in third place with a record of 5-0-6. Petawawa got out to an early lead, but with time winding down in the first half Deep River managed to tie things up. After no goals in extra time, the game went to penalty kicks where it took six players on each team before a Petawawa ended up winning with a final score of 2-1.
The soccer finals for men and women is on tonight (Thursday) at Riverside Park in Pembroke. In the women’s division, Buttle Electric will take on the Petawawa Ladies for the B finals and the Midnight Snipers will face off against United FC in the A finals. Both of the women’s final games start at 6:30pm.
The men’s final will be played between Petawawa Saint-Germain FC and Whitewater Brewing Company starting at 8:30pm.
