The Ottawa Valley Festival of Remembrance will honour military veterans and first responders while raising funds for organizations supporting those who have served.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. at Festival Hall at L’Équinoxe in Pembroke.
The evening will feature local music and dance performances, a ceremony recognizing fallen service members and personal stories shared by veterans.
Performers include Music Healing Veterans Canada: Upper Ottawa Valley, Stereo Typical and the 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Pipes and Drums.
A silent auction will also be held, with organizers accepting donations of items for the fundraiser.
Proceeds from the festival and silent auction will support Music Healing Veterans Canada: Upper Ottawa Valley, as well as Fire Team K-9, which provides service dogs to military veterans, retired police officers and retired firefighters.
Organizers say the event is intended to recognize the sacrifices of veterans while supporting programs that help them in their lives after service.
Tickets are available through Festival Hall’s online ticketing page.
