Newly elected Laurentian Valley councillor Jay Geddes says there aren’t enough words to describe his reaction to being elected for his first term on council.
Geddes offered his insight into his win and expressed his gratitude to electors.
He brought in the most votes across the township, and Geddes says he’s grateful for the votes but wishes the voter turnout could’ve been higher.
When asked what his priorities are as a new councillor, Geddes compares it to laying out a new foundation within a sports team.
While he says being in the political arena is very new, he’s ready to step up for the Laurentian Valley and work as a team.
Geddes gathered 2,139 votes in the 2026 municipal election, and will be joined by Allan Wren, Brian Hugli, Jason Schulz and Wendy Hewitt.
