Police services across Ontario are marking the beginning of Crime Prevention Week, and this year’s theme will focus on a united province to combat criminal activity.
Crime Prevention Week runs until Nov. 7, and Deep River Police says they’re hoping to focus on collaboration between police services and the community.
“It’ s an important opportunity for the Deep River Police Service to highlight the collaborative efforts of the police service with community organizations, businesses, and residents to prevent crime and build safer communities,” they say in a social media post.
According to the province, during Crime Prevention Week, Ontario police services will host community outreach events, share crime-prevention education and resources, highlight initiatives addressing crimes against persons, businesses, and vulnerable groups as well as promote partnerships within the community.
Crime Prevention Week initially started in 2021.
