Pembroke’s current Deputy Mayor is thanking the voters and contributors that participated in the 2026 municipal election as his time in office starts to wind down.
Brian Abdallah, who narrowly came in second behind mayor elect Stephanie LeMay in Monday’s election, has put out a statement on social media thanking voters, volunteers and other residents who took part in the electoral process.
“Your unwavering support has meant the world to our family,” Abdallah said. “As the new mayoral administration and council take the helm, I wish them success in tackling the urgent challenges facing our community. ”
Abdallah went on to say serving on city council for the last eight years has been the greatest honour in his life.
“My commitment to public service does not end here; it is a lifelong calling that will continue. I urge every resident to stay engaged, stand united, and keep building a community that truly serves everyone.”
Abdallah received 1,518 votes in the election, falling less than 30 votes short of LeMay’s 1,545.
