The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society has launched its Fall Draws for Paws 50/50 lottery, with the first of four early-bird draws set for Thursday.
Four $2,000 early-bird prizes are available, with the grand prize draw scheduled for Nov. 12.
The size of the grand prize will depend on ticket sales. The most recent Draws for Paws 50/50 winner took home more than $130,000.
Tickets start at $10 and are available through the Ontario SPCA’s lottery website.
Proceeds support the organization’s Community Access to Resources, Education, and Support, or CARES, Fund, which provides grants to SPCAs and humane societies across Ontario.
The fund supports animal-welfare initiatives including spay and neuter programs, veterinary care and shelter improvements.
Ontario SPCA vice-president of development Stephanie Miller says each ticket gives buyers a chance at a significant prize while helping improve the lives of animals across the province.
