Drivers in Pembroke can expect closures and delays on two roads this week as construction work takes place.
Bell Street between Mackay Street and Cecelia Street will be closed to through traffic from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday to facilitate hydro pole installation.
The road will be reopened during school bus hours, from 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m., to allow for student drop-offs and pick-ups. Only emergency services will be permitted through the Bell Street closure.
Meanwhile, Townline Road between Mackay Street and River Road will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Flag persons will be on site to direct traffic, and construction personnel will be working in the area. Emergency services and local traffic will be permitted through the Townline Road closure.
The City of Pembroke is asking drivers to respect posted construction signs and use alternate routes where possible.
Delays are expected in both areas.
