Evelyn Joyce McConnell peacefully passed at Caressant Care Cobden, with her family by her side, on Sunday April 6, 2025, at the age of 94 years. Joyce McConnell (nee Cope), beloved wife of the late Lorne Alfred (Slim) McConnell. Loved mother to Shane Patience (C.J.), BC, Marney Ready, Peterborough, Winston McConnell, Edmonton, Kathy Turcotte (Darwin), Pembroke, Bill McConnell (Heather), Pickering and Bob McConnell (Mary Jane), Petawawa. Loving grandmother to Liam, Ryan (April), Brady (Ali), Wesley (Lindsey), Maddie (Deven), Christopher (Mel), Katelin (Phil), Candace (Scott), Brandon (Amy), Andrew (Corie), Matthew (Heather), Chase (Jasmine), Cole (Denise), Madison (Rob) and 14 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Jim Cope , the late Ruth Martin and the late Lang Cope. Daughter of the late Edwin and Marion (nee Watson) Cope. Sadly missed by all her nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 517 Petawawa on Saturday June 14, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Private family interment at Calvin United Cemetery. In memory of Evelyn donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation or the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Murphy Funeral Home, Pembroke.
