At the Pembroke Regional Hospital, with her family by her side, on Saturday May 17, 2025 at the age of 87 years. Mary Ellen Horner (nee Code) of Pembroke, beloved wife of the late John Horner. Loved and cherished mother of Catherine Condie (Philip Severin) of Beachburg and David Horner of Renfrew. Loving grandmother of Melissa and John Condie and Crystal and Andrew (Jordan) Horner and a soon to be great grandchild. Sister to Greta Payne (John), Pembroke and predeceased by her sister Marie Sheedy (late James) and Donald Code (late Denise Crites). Sister in law to Mary-Jo Horner, Sheila Riskie (Arvin) Delta ON, Barbara Barry (Joe), Cobden, Walter Kearsley, Cathy Horner, Marion Horner and predeceased by Shirley Kearsley, Donald Horner, William Horner and Robert Horner. Loved and missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Daughter of the late Gordon and Christena (nee McCulloch) Code and by her grandparents James and Mary Ellen (nee Jack) Code and Daniel Peter and Mary (nee Cole) McCulloch.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Mary Ellen with her family at the Murphy Funeral Home, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Wednesday May 21st, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday May 22nd from 10:00 a.m. until time of Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception in the funeral home. Interment St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Cemetery, Kerr Line, Ross Township. In memory of Mary Ellen, donations to the OSPCA would be appreciated.
