September 7th, 2024, marks the first ever Emergency & Protective Services United Event and the organizer couldn’t be more thrilled. This free event is happening from 10:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. at the Petawawa Civic Centre. There will be an emergency services team obstacle course that our first responders will be racing through, silent auction, dunk tank, mini putt with Sparky and so much more.
Alysia Beevis the Founder tells myFM what the community can expect.
Beevis stated that she is so happy to see this fundraiser come to life as it is something she has wanted to do for a while now. There will be prizes handed out to the children and a BBQ lunch. Bagpipes will be piping in the dignitaries and a moment of silence for those we have lost and September 11th. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Gary Serviss, Dignitaries and the Emergency & Protective Services United Committee. She hopes that this event will be a success so that it will be an annual event.
This event is sponsored by Aspire Realty Ltd. and Alice General Store and all proceeds raised will go towards three different charities in the area, Renfrew County Boys and Girls Club, Petawawa Pantry Food Bank and St. Joseph’s Food Bank. Beevis tells myFM there are lots of fun prizes to be one, with a special prize to be won, the official CFL Football signed by the entire Ottawa REDBLACKS team. With four best seat tickets and a gift certificate for Sunset Grill.
The event will proceed rain or shine with the event moving indoors if the weather doesn’t hold out. These events help bring the community together and help local charities within the Valley. Remember, One Team One Fight.
