on January 8th, 2024, a Petawawa resident was charged after an impaired driving investigation took place.
Around 4 p.m. members of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP conducted a traffic stop on Petawawa Boulevard. A Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) and further testing conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer helped the OPP with the arrest of 59-year-old Wayne Anthony Lapierre.
Lapierre has been charged with operation while impaired and two counts of possession of a cocaine. His license was suspended for 90 days and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on February 27, 2024.
