Petawawa Heritage Village is inviting residents to celebrate the holiday season with a series of festive events, including a wreath-making workshop, a visit from Santa Claus and evenings of Christmas lights.
The holiday activities begin Nov. 28 with a wreath-making workshop from noon to 4 p.m. at the Heritage Village on Civic Centre Road.
Participants will have the opportunity to create their own holiday wreath to decorate their homes or give as a handmade gift. All materials will be provided, and the cost is $50 per person.
Space is limited, and those interested in taking part are asked to email petawawavillage@gmail.com to reserve a spot and receive payment instructions.
The festivities continue Dec. 6 with a special visit from Santa Claus. Families are invited to explore the festive grounds, meet Santa, have their pictures taken and share their Christmas wishes.
The Village will also host Christmas Lights in the Village on Dec. 12, 19 and 23, from approximately 6 to 8 p.m.
The historic grounds will be illuminated with Christmas lights, giving visitors an opportunity to stroll through the Village and enjoy the seasonal displays.
A bonfire will be burning near the Church, while the historic building will remain open with a fire in its wood stove for visitors looking to warm up. Hot chocolate will be available, and guests are welcome to bring their own food and refreshments.
Admission to the Christmas Lights events is free, although donations are welcome to support the ongoing preservation, maintenance and operation of the Heritage Village.
Organizers encourage visitors to dress warmly and bring family and friends to enjoy the holiday atmosphere.
All three events take place at Petawawa Heritage Village, located at 176 Civic Centre Road.
More information and event updates are available through the Petawawa Heritage Village’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
