The annual campaign encourages Canadians to grow moustaches, stay connected and raise money for cancer research and mental health programs.
Movember is marking its 20th year in Canada with a new challenge encouraging people to support men’s health by getting their friends involved.
The 2026 campaign, called “Make a Growmitment,” asks Canadians to challenge a friend to grow a moustache, check in with each other throughout November and raise funds.
Todd Minerson, Country Director for Movember Canada says the goal is to remove the stigma on mens health and mental health.
The campaign comes as almost 75,000 Canadian men died before the age of 75 in 2023, largely from preventable causes, according to Movember. Minerson explains more.
Those who cannot grow a moustache can still participate by walking or running 60 kilometres during the month, organizing an event, taking on a personal challenge or donating to someone fundraising.
The 60-kilometre challenge represents the 60 men lost to suicide every hour around the world.
Money raised supports year-round work on prostate and testicular cancer awareness, mental health and suicide prevention.
Programs include Breaking the Ice, delivered with the WHL and OHL to help athletes, parents and coaches build mental health resilience.
