A fundraising event in August helped bring in thousands of dollars for the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation’s efforts to get a new CT scanner for the facility.
Executive Director Roger Martin says the recent “Giver on the River” event, organized by Performance Boat Club Canada, saw boating enthusiasts from across the province come out for a day on the Ottawa River on August 22nd to raise money for the foundation.
According to Martin, this was the first time the event has been held in the Ottawa Valley, and it raised $15,235 to support the foundation.
The money for the event was put towards the PRH Foundation’s Together We Care campaign, which is currently being put towards replacing the hospital’s sixteen-year-old CT scanner with a newer model.
For residents who want to contribute to the PRH Foundation’s fundraising efforts, Martin encourages them to visit their website to read about the fundraising options for the upcoming Black and White Gala and to purchase tickets for the weekly Catch the Ace draw.
