It is with deep sorrow that announce that Wilbert (Wib) Lorne MacDonald, peacefully passed away on Sunday December 21, 2025 with his loving family at his side.
Wib was born and raised at Lake Dore ,Twp. Of Wilberforce. He joined the Pembroke Police Department rising to the rank of Sargeant and retiring after 30 years of service, then worked for the Provincial Courts in Pembroke for another 20 years, finally retiring to Lake Dore where he worked/relaxed on his property. His favorite pastime was working with his tractor and backhoe and was still able to do so at the age of 94.
Wib is survived by his daughter Valerie Schreader (Bill), son James MacDonald, sister Fern McComb, stepsons Shayne Hoelke (Julanta), Fred Hoelke (Charity), Steven Hoelke (Lana), grandchildren Scott, Andrew, Holly MacDonald, Charlotte, Casey, Olivia, Theresa, Adam, Abigaile, Kagrien, Keagan Hoelke and several great grandchildren. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Lorne and Eveline MacDonald, brothers Arthur, Delmar, Mervin MacDonald, first wife Nettie Kraft, son Kevin MacDonald, daughter Eveline Agnes MacDonald, second wife Theresa Hoelke and grandchild Peter Hoelke.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Supple’s Landing, Doctors and Nurses at the Pembroke Regional Hospital and Renfrew Victoria Hospital and Marianhill.
As per Wib’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Grave side service will be held at Point Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Lake Dore, on Saturday June 27th at 1:00 p.m. followed by a Reception at the Royal Canadian Legion, Eganville.
In memory of Wib, donations to Point Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.
