A local individual has been charged with uttering threats after an unwanted presence was reported at a Pembroke residence.
On the morning of May 2, 2024, around 7:15 a.m., officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of an intruder in the backyard of a home on Renfrew Street. Upon investigation, police discovered that the homeowner and their family had been threatened. The suspect was found nearby and taken into custody shortly afterward.
The individual, identified as 49-year-old Clayton Yackobeck, currently of no fixed address, has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and failing to comply with probation, according to the Criminal Code.
