We are just days away from the Heroes Run for Healthcare in support of the Pembroke Regional Hospital. The run is coming up on Saturday morning through the streets of downtown Pembroke. To mark the occasion, Tammy Blackmore the Fitness Director at the Pembroke Fitness Centre in the Best Western tells myFM that they’re giving away a big prize package on race day.
The event, consisting of a 2km hero-themed kids’ run and a 5km community run, aims to unite the community in a collective effort to support local healthcare initiatives. Planning Committee Chair Scott Coombes shared his excitement, stating, “This hero-themed event has become a cherished tradition, rallying our community each spring to contribute to the betterment of local healthcare.” Blackmore goes on to tell us that it’s all about giving back to the community.
Registration for the event is open, with pricing set at $30/person for the 5km timed run and $10/child for the 2km hero-themed fun run. A special group rate of $150 is available for schools, youth organizations, corporate groups, and sports teams participating in the 5K run. For group registration or more information, please contact Leigh Costello at leigh.costello@prh.email or 613-732-2811 extension 7408.
