They’re calling it an idea whose time has come- and it’s certainly action in the present tense.
The Kitchissippi Ottawa Valley Chapter of the Council of Canadians Climate Matters Group, fresh from gathering 50 more petition signatures at the Eganville & Area Horticultural Society’s Earth Day event Monday- are off to Renfrew County Council to present it this morning.
The online document now contains hundreds of signatures it will be presented to the County by invitation of the County around 10AM (Wednesday).
The Climate Matters delegation intends to ask the upper tier to take the first step right then to initiate a Valley-wide, umbrella Climate Action Committee.
If you’re coming in support, dress warmly and meet up outside (at 9 International Drive in Pembroke) at 930AM. There are lots of seats inside Council Chambers for observers.
