Registration is open for this year’s community cleanup initiative in Pembroke. This week, anyone can contact the city’s recreation department at the Pembroke Memorial Centre. The city is working to prepare 100 Community Cleanup kits which include a t-shirt, gloves, and instructions, along with a black garbage bag that can be disposed of during regular garbage collection days.
Participants must register and document their cleanup activities by taking a photo and sending it to recreation@pembroke.ca between April 20 and 26 to win the grand prize. The grand prize includes a rain barrel, donated by Mayor Gervais and Deputy Mayor Abdallah, a 12-pack of leaf and yard wash paper bags, a set of Fiskars shears, and a mesh cover for yellow/blue bins.
Residents can register and pick up their Community Cleanup kits at the City of Pembroke Parks and Recreation office, located at the Pembroke Memorial Centre or the Pembroke Public Library between April 15 and 19.
