A pair of local bike riders have some big ideas for the Algonquin Trail in Pembroke. Gerry Morris and Ron Moss have made a presentation to city council about how they’d like to see the development of a trail head hub near the marina. Morris tells myFM news that they see potential.
Morris shares some of his ideas with myFM news.
Morris also says that they wanted to get their ideas in before Albert Street sees a make over.
In addition, some features presented include adding bike lanes on Albert Street, picnic tables and possibly a small restaurant where the Henry Brown Boat is located. Morris went on to say that the term “Trail Town” has popped up across North America and he says he could see Pembroke being added to that list of trail destinations.
