The busiest road in the County of Renfrew will be down to a single lane of traffic all summer.
Bonnechere Excavating out of Renfrew has been awarded the contract for work on the Petawawa River Bridge for $1.8-million.
Flagging is expected to start Thursday, May 19th, 2022, with temporary traffic signals installed on May 30th.
The bridge connecting the Town of Petawawa to the base will be reduced to a single lane of alternating traffic for the entire duration of construction.
Pedestrians will still be able to walk over the bridge using the existing sidewalk during the first stage of the project and a temporary sidewalk in the second stage of construction.
Work on the Petawawa River Bridge will start this month with a goal to complete the project by November.
