The City of Pembroke is asking you to hold back on watering your lawn and garden this summer.
By-laws went into effect Sunday, May 15th restricting which days and what times you can hydrate your outdoor greenery.
Properties with even numbered addresses will be allowed to water their lawns on even numbered days from 6am to 10am and again 6pm to 10pm.
Odd numbered addresses will get their chance on odd calendar days again between 6am to 10am and 6pm to 10pm.
Pembroke’s by-law officers will be enforcing these rules through to September 15th, with penalties in place for those who decide not to follow them.
The complete by-law and an FAQ is up on Pembroke’s website. Some exemptions, such as for recently laid sod or seed, do apply.
