If you’re hoping to enjoy the Ottawa River beaches of Petawawa sometime soon, you’re mostly out of luck.
The Department of National Defense and Canadian Armed Forces are advising potential swimmers that most shoreline beaches along the Ottawa River are closed to the public for the foreseeable future.
That includes Wegner Point, Antler Point, Gust Point, and Kiska Beach.
The Armed Forces ask that you obey all signage, including floating aids and buoys along the Garrison Petawawa bank from Black Point to Black Bear beach.
Black Bear beach and the surrounding campground are not subject to the shutdown, and remain open to the public.
