The Pembroke Lumber Kings 2021-2022 campaign is over, but now the work starts to build an even stronger team next year. The Kings fell 2-1 in Game 7 to the Brockville Braves Friday night in the fourth overtime period. Head Coach Alex Armstrong says the entire series was a huge learning curve for a young roster.
The leader of the organization says there are some good players coming in next year to build off the foundation already in place. Armstrong says the offseason work gets underway shortly.
Captain Bruce Coltart is a graduating player this year so that leaves a vacancy in the leadership. Something the Head Coach says he will be looked at in the fall.
Armstrong also tells myFM that without the countless volunteers, sponsors, billet families and community groups, Lumber Kings hockey wouldn’t be possible.
