The Rogers Hometown Hockey festival comes to Pembroke this weekend.
Local organizing committee chair for Rogers Hometown Hockey, Jamie Bramburger, says people can expect a fun festival with hockey activities on Saturday, Sunday and a live broadcast of an NHL game on Monday night.
Ron MacLean and Tara Slone will be in Pembroke for the live broadcast on Monday.
Bramburger says Slone recorded a record in Pembroke and MacLean loves the stories that come out of small communities like right here in the heart of the Ottawa Valley.
Some of the weekend events will include live music, entertainment, games, table hockey, hardest shot competitions, photo opportunities, merchandise tables, autograph signings from former Ottawa Senator Marc Methot and a big ball hockey arena set up in the parking lot.
The Pembroke Lumber Kings also have a big game Sunday night.
Puck drop at the Pembroke Memorial Centre (PMC) will at 7:00 pm and kids who wear their minor hockey jerseys get in for free.
Bramburger says there will be also be an intermission show put on from Rogers Hometown Hockey.
Free tickets for the Rogers Hometown Hockey weekend festivities are available online and proof of vaccination is required for people over the age of 12.
