The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP says a victim was taken to hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries following a domestic dispute in Pembroke. Yesterday afternoon (August 11th), officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 300 block of Mary Street.
A female was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. An officer was assaulted during the arrest.
The OPP says the victim, a 56-year-old male from Pembroke, left the scene before police arrived and had sustained injuries from an edged weapon in the dispute. Police located the male that afternoon and he was transported to hospital by ambulance.
The 29-year-old female accused has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and assault a peace officer. The accused is being held in custody pending a court appearance in Pembroke tomorrow (August 13th).
