Fellowes High School in Pembroke has introduced a junior football team for students in Grades 9 and 10. Previously the school only had a varsity team that competed in the senior circuit of the Lanark-Renfrew High School Football League. The school no longer has a team for the senior players, but after a few years they hope to re-introduce a team for the students in Grades 11 and 12. The first game of the season for the new Fellowes Falcons team is this afternoon when the travel to Kanata to play Holy Trinity. Fellowes will play in the Ottawa and the Valley Junior High School Football League including teams from Arnprior, Almonte, Carleton Place along with schools in the Ottawa area. The first home game for the Falcons is next Friday (September 27th), but depending on if the newly installed track is finished in time, the team may have to play at the Civic Centre in Petawawa.
