Four drivers were charged with stunt driving near Pembroke in one day. The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP says they were patrolling Highway 17 in Laurentian Valley Township on Sunday and pulled over four drivers going at least 50 kilometres an hour over the posted speed limit. The first was a 58-year-old from Laurentian Valley who was doing 144km/hr, the next driver was a 24-year-old from Sucker Creek First Nation who was doing 142km/hr, a 31-year-old from Patterson Township was clocked at 144km/hr and a 35-year-old driver from Petawawa was caught doing 142km/hr. All drivers were pulled over in a 90 zone. Police impounded the four vehicles for a week and suspended the driver’s licenses for seven days. All of the accused will have a court date to answer to the charges.
